Internship positions

Social media intern

-Attend virtual calls, take notes, and create weekly posts for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

-Draft holiday posts (national, Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu…)

-Organize social media campaigns to attract more followers and clean up our Facebook page

-Design event flyers

-Publish social media posts while we’re having a live event

-Monitor comments and messages

-Assist in the design and distribution of social media materials during major events

Research & outreach intern

-Attend weekly government calls and lectures and take notes

-Assist with our Congress contact database

-Assist with our journalist database 

-Research organizations that would be fitting partners 

-Look up holidays to help the team plan events

-Assist in college student outreach

qualifications

  • Live in the DMV area
  • Highly organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Urdu (preferred but not required)
  • Flexibility and ability to multitask
  • Ability to take initiative and employ good judgment
  • Enrolled in a Community or 4-Year College
  • Commit 12-15 hours a week for at least 4 months
