AMMWEC President Anila Ali was honored to attend her first D.C. Democratic Women’s Club meeting to celebrate American women who continue to shape history. The event took place in honor of Women’s History Month and included leaders such as Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett, DNC Chairman Jamie Harrison, Congressman Janie Raskin, D.C. Mayor, and more! Empowering women is one of AMMWEC’s core values and Anila fights every day to give voice to women from the Muslim and South-Asian community.
