Celebrating the 105th Independence Day celebration, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan and the people of Azerbaijan in Washington DC.
US Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Erika Olson, as well as US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine, Eurasia Laura Cooper, Chief of Staff of the Oklahoma National Guard Brigadier General Colby Watt, were also among the guests of the event.
Addressing the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador to the U.S. Khazar Ibrahim highlighted the exceptional services of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the history of national statehood of Azerbaijan as well as touched upon the Great Leader’s invaluable contributions to the establishment and development of the Azerbaijan-US relations.
The participating high-ranking US officials congratulated Azerbaijan on both landmark events.
Following the speeches, the declaration signed by Muriel Bowser, Mayor of Washington, DC, on May 28 – the Independence Day of Azerbaijan, was read out.
The event participants then watched a video highlighting the Independence Day and the Armed Forces Day of Azerbaijan and the performance of the national dances of Azerbaijan by Maryam Najafzade.
