This year’s Eid celebration by the Department of State was held at a historic place called the Blair House. Secretary Blinken gave us many Muslim heads. States have stayed there. He assured the Muslims that we were part of America and that we were equal citizens, and had all the rights to practice a religion freely. Ambassador Rashad Hussain echoed that sentiment. The event was beautiful and the staff from the State Department was extremely gracious and welcoming. Anila Ali met with many diplomats. She’s seen here with Ambassador Don Lu, Assistant Secretary, bureau of South, and Central Asian Affairs, Ambassador Religious Freedom, Rashad Hussain, and, of course, the host Secretary of State, Antony Blinken.
Along with American diplomats, we met with ambassadors from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Austria, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Ali was delighted to meet the State Department envoy for Afghanistan, Rina Amiri. Anila also met with the Rohingya union leader .
