Alexa Stone is an award-winning costume designer for film, television, dance, and theater. A Washington, D.C. native, Alexa grew up all over the world wherever her family was stationed on their foreign service posts. She attended Scripps College in Claremont, CA and did her graduate studies at the Motley School of Design in London. She worked in theaters, costumes shops, dye houses, at operas houses, in film studios and on location all over the world before taking a break to have two sons with her husband, award-winning make-up artist Douglas Noe. That’s where the real work began. In addition to raising their children all over the world on location and teaching them about culture, history and gender issues, Alexa started a business in 2017 designing and manufacturing stylish, flattering pocketed belts for women as an alternative to their burdensome handbags. As a long-time feminist, providing women with the tools to change their daily paradigm is a dream come true for her.
