AMWEC, SALEF, and the Orange County Jewish Coalition for Refugees recently worked together to hold a community service event collecting donations for migrant women in detention centers. Due to the efforts of these hard-working women, we were able to collect and deliver an unprecedented amount of goods, medicine, and sanitary products for the migrant women and girls in need. We thank SALEF and the Jewish Coalition for Refugees for collaborating with us and helping us give back to the community!
The annual hajj season gathers Muslims of all backgrounds for contemplation, discussion, and spirit of common humanity. For members not making the pilgrimage to Mecca this year, AMWEC hosted an evening of contemplation and prayers for peace.
One of our board members, Dinah Friedan, recently received a certificate for successfully completing the FBI Citizen Academy program. She is seen here with the assistant director of ADIC, Paul Delacourt. We’re proud of you Dinah!
The Los Angeles Times covered AMWEC’s unique multifaith iftar hosted at a synagogue in Newport Beach. Muslims joined Jews, Christians, Sikhs, Zoroastrians, Bahais, Hindus, Buddhists and people who follow no particular religion at all to break bread and build bridges.
